Additive For Metal Plating Electrolysis principle

Electroplating (Electroplating) is the use of electrolytic principle in some metal surface coated with a thin layer of other metals or alloys of the process, is the use of electrolytic metal or other parts of the material attached to the surface of a layer of metal film process to prevent Metal oxidation (such as corrosion), improve wear resistance, conductivity, reflective, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and enhance the role of aesthetics. The outer layers of many coins are also electroplated.

Electroplating, the coating of metal or other insoluble materials to do the anode, to be plated to do the workpiece cathode, coated metal cation to be plated on the surface of the workpiece to be reduced to form a coating. In order to eliminate the interference of other cations, and make the coating uniform and firm, the need to use metal plating solution containing plating solution to make the plating metal cation concentration unchanged. The purpose of electroplating is to place a metal coating on the substrate to change the surface properties or dimensions of the substrate. Electroplating can enhance the corrosion resistance of the metal (the use of metal corrosion-resistant metal), increase the hardness, to prevent wear, improve the conductivity, smoothness, heat resistance and surface appearance.

The use of electrolytic cell principle in the mechanical products deposited with a good, but the performance and matrix material of different metal coating technology. The coating is evenly hot than the hot dip, and is generally thinner, ranging from several microns to tens of microns. Through plating, you can get decorative products on the decorative and a variety of functional surface layer, but also repair wear and processing errors of the workpiece.

In addition, according to a variety of electroplating needs there are different roles. Examples are as follows:

1. Copper plating: primer, to enhance the plating layer adhesion, and corrosion resistance. (Copper easy to oxidation, oxidation, copper is no longer conductive, so copper products must do copper protection)

2. Nickel plating: primer or appearance, to improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance, (which chemical nickel for the modern process wear resistance than chrome). (Note that many electronic products, such as DIN head, N head, no longer use nickel backing, mainly due to the magnetic nickel, will affect the electrical performance inside the passive intermodulation)

3. Gold-plated: to improve the conductive contact impedance, and enhance signal transmission. (Gold is the most stable and most expensive.)

4. Palladium palladium: to improve the conductive contact impedance, enhance signal transmission, wear resistance higher than gold.

5. Tin-plated lead: to enhance the welding capacity, quickly replaced by other alternatives (due to lead is mostly replaced by tin and matte tin).

6. Silver plating: to improve the conductive contact impedance, and enhance signal transmission. (Silver performance is the best, easy to oxidation, oxidation is also conductive)

Electroplating is the use of electrolysis principle of the conductive body covered with a layer of metal method.

In addition to the conductor, plating can also be used for special treatment of plastic.
